On April 25, the Libyan Nation Army (LNA) launched a limited attack against members of the Shura Council of Mujahidin in the city of Darnah and captured the al-Hilah military camp south of the city, the UAE-based al-Arabiya TV reported.

Additionally, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, a spokesman for the LNA, announced that warplanes of the Libyan Air Force (LAF) had destroyed several vehicles of the Shura Council of Mujahidin in Darnah.

From its side, sources linked to the Shura Council of Mujahidin in Darnah claimed that the group fighters had destroyed three LNA vehicles during the clashes south of the city.

The LNA is expected to launch a large-scale military operation in Darnah once its General Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar returns to Benghazi, according to Libyan sources.

The upcoming military operation is aimed at capturing Derna and eliminating the Shura Council of Mujahidin, which mostly consists of radical elements linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaeda and ISIS.
