A brief look at the military military developments in Afghanistan over the past few days:
- The Taliban shot down a MD-530 military helicopter in the province of Wardak;
- According to the military, the Taliban intelligence chief, Mullah Ahmad, and 2 other group members were killed in an airstrike in the Nawzad district of Helmand province on February 6;
- Mawlawi Sahar, a local military commission chief, and 7 other members of the Taliban were killed in the Qara Bagh district of Ghazni province overnight on February 9;
- 10 pro-government fighters were killed and 5 others were injured in clashes with the Taliban in the districts of Lalpura and Khogyani in Nangarhar province.
