- Government troops repelled a Taliban attack in the Baharak district and near the city of Taluqan, Takhar province, the government said;
- Over 260 security incidents were reported during the September 28 presidential election day, according to Afghan authorities. The report claimed that 90 incidents directly targeted the polling centers;
- The Taliban claimed that over 106 pro-government forces were killed or wounded in recent clashes in the districts of Qisar, Almar, Juma Bazar, Shireen Tagab, Pashtun Kot, Dawlatabad, Qaramaqul, Gurziwan and Balcheragh in Faryab province;
- 14 government troops were killed and 2 vehicles were destroyed in the Nahri Saraj district, Helmand province, the Taliban says.
