A brief overview of the recent developments in Nagorno-Karabakh:
- As of January 2, a total of 46,778 people returned to Karabakh with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers;
- As of January 2, Russia reported that more than 400 hectares of land and about 157 kilometers of roads were cleared from mines and IEDs and 16647 explosive objects were found and destroyed;
- As of January 2, Russian military medics provided assistance to 1,044 residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, including 131 children;
- As of January 2, 1145 bodies have been retrieved from the battle zone, according to the State Service of Emergency Situations of Artsakh;
- One January 1, an Azerbaijani soldier died in the Fuzuli area due to a land mine blast;
- One January 1, an Azerbaijani soldier died in the Qubadli area due to a land mine blast.
