A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- On January 16, Russia reported that Idlib militants violated the ceasefire regime in Greater Idlib 21 times: 9 – in Idlib province, 4 – in Latakia province, 5 – in Hama province, 9 – in Aleppo province;
- On January 17, Russian warplanes struck ISIS positions near Rasafah;
- On January 16, Syrian Arab Army (SAA) artillery shelled positions of Turkish-backed forces in Barah village;
- On January 16, artillery of Turkish-backed forces shelled SAA positions in Dar Kabirah village;
- On January 16, an explosive device exploded in a car on Thalathin street in Idlib city. No casualties were reported;
- On January 16, an IED attack targeted a vehicle of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the town of al-Azbah.
