As of October 26, Azerbaijan and Turkey kept their operational initiative in the war with Armenia in the contested Nagorno-Karabakh region. Their forces continue developing their offensive in southern Karabakh by trying to remove Armenian forces from of the Lachin corridor area in order to cut off the link between the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and Armenia itself.

Attempts of Armenian forces to retake the initiative and counter—attacks near the Iranian border did not lead to any breakthrough results. In turn, the Armenian Defense Ministry was forced to admit that it in fact has lost the south of Karabakh. Nonetheless, according to its version of events, the towns of Fuzuli and Hadrut are still not controlled by Azerbaijan. This goes contrary to videos from the ground. At the same time, the Azerbaijani advance on the town of Qubadli faced particular difficulties and in fact the town remains contested. Further development of the Azerbaijani forces’ advance poses a direct thereat to the town of Shushi, near the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic capital, Stepankert, and the Lanchin corridor. Both these directions are considered as strategically vital by the Armenian leadership and it will likely contribute every possible effort to prevent this scenario.

On October 25, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia announced that it has factual evidence that numerous operators of Turkish Special Forces took part in clashes in Karabakh. According to the report, since August, Turkish personnel have been training the Azerbaijani military and participating in the conflict. Earlier it became known that after the joint Turkish-Azerbaijani drills in August a large number of Turkish military specialists, service members and equipment remained in Azerbaijan. The presence of Turkish F-16 fighter jets at the airbases of Ganja and Qabala were confirmed by satellite images. The Armenian side insists that the Turkish F-16s were involved in the shooting down of Armenian aircraft and providing air cover for Azerbaijani combat drones bombing Armenian positions in Karabakh. Turkish weapon supplies and the contribution of Turkish intelligence and top officers to the planning and employment the Azerbaijani advance in Karabakh are another open secret. The presence of members of Turkish-backed Syrian militant groups in the combat zone area was also confirmed by photo and video evidence.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev insists that the Turkish military and Syrian militants do not participate in the war while simultaneously making loud statements about victories of Azerbaijani forces. During an operational meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and commanders of units on the front line, Aliyev claimed that his forces eliminated or captured about 300 Armenian battle tanks and destroyed 6 S-300 air defense systems. The Azerbaijani leader also stated that Armenia received modern weapons every day somehow forgetting to mention various Turkish and Israeli weapon systems employed by the Azerbaijani military.

Meanwhile, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Deputy Secretary of State Stephen Biegun in Washington and agreed on the establishment of another humanitarian ceasefire, the third one since the start of the war on September 27. Nonetheless, it does not look like it will allow for any strategic breakthrough as the previous two ceasefires collapsed immediately after their formal start. Moreover, the current situation on the frontline does not sit well with the goals of both sides.

The Turkish-Azerbaijani bloc still seeks to settle the Nagorno-Karabakh question by military means dismantling the Armenian republic there and pushing the Armenians out of the region. At the same time, for the Armenians the current configuration of the frontline, even if the conflict is temporarily frozen, will be a source of permanent threat to the vital infrastructure of Karabakh. In these conditions, the resumption of the Azerbaijani advance will be almost inevitable.

The Iranian leadership is also skeptical regarding the diplomatic settlement of the conflict. Iran has deployed large forces to the border with Karabakh and launched large-scale military drills in the area.

Arman Melkonyan

Ida,

Can you answer my question above?

Thanks.

shylockracy

Whoever thought that a war that’s been in active phase since 1989, when both parties were in the same country, was gonna end with talks at Putin’s Kremlin, not to mention the laughable idea of peace negotiated at Trumpet’s White House, is delusional.

Arman Melkonyan

Armenians:

The extant Turkish Republic of 2020 is guilty of committing and perpetuating the Armenian Genocide!

So why are Armenians being so senseless?

Fact: Turks claim Armenians were deported from war zones for their own safety — NOT with the goal of killing them and committing genocide.

Fact: Turks today conceal (and reportedly destroy) Ottoman Turkish deeds records and archives to obstruct official confirmation of Armenian ownership and thwart the inheritors of the Armenians they “deported” to reclaim and return to their homes, lands and property;

Thereby;

Fact: The Turks are continuing to commit genocide on the Armenians by preventing them from returning to their homes even though WWI has been over for more than a century.

So why…

…aren’t Armenians suing the modern day Republic of Turkey for perpetrating the ongoing genocide *today*?

Aren’t the hapless Armenians being self-defeating instead of helping their cause?

Arman Melkonyan

No.

The Azeris committed the genocides of Sumgait and Baku in Azerbaijan years before Khojaly.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumgait_pogrom

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baku_pogrom

The Azeri soldiers deliberately mixed with the fleeing civilians effectively using them as human shields in Khojaly.

Some of the Armenian soldiers and militia — many of whom had personally experienced the Azeri pogroms of Sumgait and Baku — took revenge even though their conmander Monte Melkonyan admonished them not to mistreat civilians. Their grief was too great. They also wanted to prove to the Azeris who derided them as incapable of killing like the Azeris can and do, that they could if forced to.

These young Armenian men had witnessed Armenian women — both young and elderly 75-year-old ladies — being gang raped then burned alive in garbage containers and/or butchered to pieces in the streets. Azeri civilians ran around town waving Armenian body parts as though they were trophies.

A few months later, the Azeris committed another small-scale genocide in the Artsakh village of Maraga: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maraga_massacre

Stev60

Excellent post – cool, calm, and factual.

Arman Melkonyan

Thank you.

Random Dude

– Araaaa Genocide!!! Araaaa they are killing us.
– But you are in their land
– Araaaaaaaa, heeeeelp!!! Genocide!!!

Arman Melkonyan

Artsakh/Nagorno Karabakh is not Azeri land even according to the UN’s own rules and principles.

United Nations General Assembly Resolution 1514 (XV), 14 December 1960…

2. All peoples have the right to self-determination; by virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development…

4. All armed action or repressive measures of all kinds directed against dependent peoples shall cease…

5. Immediate steps shall be taken… to transfer all powers to the peoples of those territories, without any conditions or reservations, in accordance with their freely expressed will and desire, without any distinction as to race, creed or colour, in order to enable them to enjoy complete independence and freedom.

Only administrative control of the *autonomous* enclave of Artsakh was “gifted” to Azerbaijan (itself a non-independent republic of USSR) in 1923 by the dictator Stalin.

Armenians populated Artsakh thousands of years before Turks invaded the Caucasuses and Armenia.  The population was still 85 percent Armenian even after 70 years of Azeri oppression and attempted ethnic cleansing when the war started in 1991.

Artsakh was *never* part of an independent sovereign country of Azerbaijan.  It was part of the USSR.  Azerbaijan itself only existed between 1918-1920 only to reappear again after the dismantling of the Soviet Union 1991.  Therefore the Azeris have no right to claim it as their own land.

Azeri civilians backed and led by their government institutions raped and tortured to death hundreds of Armenians in Baku and Sumgait between 1988-1990.  Thousands of Armenians were forced to flee from their homes in Baku and Sumgait, that’s genocide.

And what unbelievable chutzpah and hatred on the part of the Jews selling HAROP terror drones and illegal weapons like cluster bombs and LORA ballistic missiles to the Azeris whilst denying the genocide of the first Christian nation of the world, the Armenians!

The hatred of the Jews for the Armenians is ancient.  The Khazars tried to invade and subjugate Armenia for centuries but failed, losing instead their own land and infiltrating Eastern Europe after adopting Judaism: http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/4279-chazars

The Donmeh Jews organized and committed the Armenian genocide with their Turkish partners: https://russia-insider.com/en/history/real-holocaust-1915-armenian-genocide-and-its-russophobic-origins/ri22877

https://www.timesofisrael.com/before-the-holocaust-ottoman-jews-supported-the-armenian-genocides-architect/

Even the laws of the Soviet Union gave the right to secede from Azerbaijan to the majority Armenian population of Artsakh:

“Lenin, who viewed Turkey as the main ally, transferred two territories – Nakhichevan, populated in half by Armenians and Azerbaijanis, and Karabakh, inhabited exclusively by Armenians, to Azerbaijan. In fact, there is one detail that fundamentally separates the problem of Karabakh with Crimea and many other problems. The law of the Soviet Union, which was adopted in 1990, provided for a fairly clear rule for the secession of the union republic, and it was clearly stated that the autonomous republics and national groups of compact residence should vote separately. And in the event of this disintegration, they have the right to their own self-determination. This is a very important point that many people ignore now. Therefore, the question of Azerbaijan’s sovereignty is dubious,” Kasparov observed.

The Turks and the Turkic Azeris don’t even need nor want Karabagh for purely economic or nationalistic purposes: they want to genocide the Armenians, conquer what remains of historic Armenia, create a contiguous land corridor between Turkey and Azerbaijan and thus reach all the way to the Caspian Sea and the Turkic states of Central Asia beyond.

Random Dude

yes yes, they all can’t sleep until see and Armenian die. They eat Armenian flesh, drink the blood.
Any other boogieman story you have for us?

Arman Melkonyan

You’re a Jew perpetrating genocide along with your Turkish brothers.

Random Dude

Armenia has never ever seen a genocide. What Armenians saw in 1915 was a slap from their own Sultan as a punishment for helping an enemy. In 2020, it is a slap from justice for occupying another country’s lands.
Future is very simple for Armenians. Don’t mess around with others, mind your own business and don’t get bitch-slapped.

Arman Melkonyan

Jews and Freemasons deny the Armenian genocide because they are the co-perpetrators of the genocide of the first Christian nation of the world.

Random Dude

You are thinking of your Kurdish friends:))))

Stev60

What a fucking evil lie – and proof of why Turks need to be beaten.

You are the one who needs to get bitch slapped. Bitch.

Random Dude

Uuuu, someone angry, someone is hurt. Its ok, if you are angry means you past the denial stage. So coming to reality. Thats progress, congratulations.

Kalle Sändare

Naa I really dont have a dog in the fight..itś just obvious to me youŕe full of shit and I felt like saying something.

Random Dude

thanks, duly noted

Stev60

Armenian land from start to finish.

Random Dude

that was a very short marathon, like 25-26years. better luck next time

Stev60

For centuries actually, before Turks even arrived.

Random Dude

Yes yes, they kept dinosaurs as pets:))))

Stev60

No idiude, but Armenia was an independent or semi-independent state or states for centuries in ancient times, before Turks arrived, and that included what is now Artsakh. It’s well documented in standard scholarship and sources.

Random Dude

Yes very independent. Lands from all neighbors, cuisine from Turkey, music from Azerbaijan, alphabet from Ethiopia. More like interdependent than independent. Noah himself got out of the ship and realized he is Armenian.

Stev60

Suing? In a court of law? Artsakh will be gone by the time that even comes to trial.

Arman Melkonyan

No,
I’m talking about the Armenian genocide of 1915.
Why are Armenians claiming their material grievance is only with the Ottoman Empire when today’s Turkish Republic (no longer) is continuing the genocide by refusing right of return to their homes and lands to the Armenians?
By confronting the the Turks of *today* you’d be advancing your cause.
It would have helped with Artsakh as well.
You have to confront the world with its hypocrisy.
What else can Armenians do in this world except champion truth and justice?
Otherwise you may perish for good.

Stev60

True in a way, but (especially external) political considerations (and sheer mismatch of size) get in the way. What Armenia could have done and even still do, is to recognize Artsakh officially, or even annex it, so that at least, it has some serious status to work with. But it’s left it a bit late, again no doubt because of those aforementioned evils. But if this anti-Christian jihad/second genocide succeeds, it will have very serious consequences, for the region, for Russia, and for the West.

Arman Melkonyan

I agree.

I believe that this conflict will usher in the end of Turkey.

Look at the Turks who have lost their slanted mongoloid eyes: that’s proof of the genocide and the rape of millions of Christian women.

Even their eyes, their flesh is Armenian, Greek, Assyrian.

All they need to do to hate themselves is to look in the mirror.

Now that they ran out of Christians to rape and kill, they are doing it to their own children and women now.

Stev60

This and so much other evil would not be happening if the Allies had enforced and protected an Armenian mandate after WW1 instead of scuttling like cowards in the face of Ataturk’s relatively primitive (and massacre-prone) horde. Now again they are behaving like craven catamites in the face of Aliyev-Erdogan’s horde, which the West and/or Russia could vaporize in an hour if it had the ballz to. But they don’t even have the ballz to say ‘hands off’ – the despicable filth.

Arman Melkonyan

Why did He create them in the first place, my friend?

Why does He allow them to keep committing genocide?

What an abomination this world is.

As you said,

If the west wanted to, they could destroy Turkey and Azerbaijan instantly.

Instead, they are doing business with them.

Macron gets his cars manufactured there. Putin is building a nuclear power plant for Erdogan. And Trump has his Trump Towers both in İstanbul and Baku.

This world is an abomination to me.

Stev60

No disagreement from me on that, a true cesspool of evil.

Arman Melkonyan

Created by God Himself.

God is omnipotent. There was no need for Him to create this “true cesspool of evil” to use as “a sieve for the Righteous for Eternity” to decide who to send there.

He could have done it instantly at Will.

Your God is causing suffering wantonly therefore committing a sin.

God is supposed to be sinless, perfect?

Well, He certainly is not: He created the Turk.

Stev60

My God? No. I have far more objections than just the Turk. I don’t disagree with the rest. But it’s the world we have, and according to theologians, there is a reason for it, even if, we can’t grasp it. As for ‘at will’, maybe He has to learn also.

Arman Melkonyan

;o)

Random Dude

Why start negotiating if the army continues the advance. Advance on the field is an advantage at the table

Stev60

This is not very difficult. The Turks (both countries) have put a lot of prep (and now blood and treasure) into this, and mean to finish Artsakh once and for all, and no ‘ceasefire’ negotiated by anyone is going to stop them, they will just go through the motions as necessary then find any one of a million excuses to resume the advance when it suits, usually within 24-48 hours, allowing for tactical readjustments and logistical replenishments. Perfectly logical from their pov. Question is, what are NATO and Russia going to do about it? Are they going to basically stand by like snivelling little wankers while the second Turkish extermination of Armenians unfolds before the world’s eyes in a century? If so then they really are foul scum who have sold their souls to Satan well and truly, and he will soon be collecting, after God has unleashed His vengeance on the evil backstabbing repeat-betrayers of the world’s first Christian nation.

As for Armenia, it can do little on its own, under threat of nuclear terrorism, the Turkish military juggernaut, and the truly evil state of international politics. It is between a rock and a hard place, forced to either accept (despite such aid as can be managed on a limited scale) the destruction of Artsakh, or face the potential destruction of Armenia itself while the same abovementioned gutless scum stand by and watch. After all, as things stand, they can hardly be expected to do much to aid Armenia given their nonchalance at the looming extermination of Artsakh and general Turkey and Islam-coddling. What truly vile filth they are proving themselves to be, and if we can see it, how much more can God. Who most assuredly won’t forget,
or forgive.

Arman Melkonyan

Thanks for sharing this.

Stev60

The supply-spectator-scum don’t want people to know what is really going on, and at stake, the Satanic position Armenia has been put in yet again, and the dirty deal/s done to eliminate Artsakh. What they didn’t count on, is the Greater Power that will eliminate them, after their filthy incriminating evil has taken its infernal course.

Rhodium 10

Sorry but everybody knew that once Pashinyan came to power after a pseudo colour revolution and expressed his wished to Join EU and promoted anti Russian politics ( close of Russian schools banned Russian lenguage TV and radio channels)..etc.. the days of NK were done!..

Stev60

Demons knew, that is. Since when was some disagreeable individual an excuse to genocide a whole country? Least of all one that has suffered genocide before? Which Russia also was responsible for (as I detailed in other comments). And to let Islamist Turks win (against Christians – the first Chrisitan nation in fact – long before Russia) in the Kavkaz, establishing more Islamist bases and lines of communication? As well as increasing their prestige and power? You Russ-trolls are way, way out of line on this, as is Putin. God will punish Russia badly for this evil treachery.

Rhodium 10

I wrote here that Putin is just a Business manager of the Oligarchy!..and now Oligarchy have large business and investment in Turkey and Azerbajan…it was the same case during Yeltsin times….but what happened when Turkey in the past NK war tried to invade Armenia?…it was that Russian military staff threated Turkey with a devastate war….and Armenia won!…Russian military staff know that Turkey will not invade Armenia…while AZ have retaken some parts in South NK…but are unable to conquer all NK and will face constant ambush and ATGM attacks because Armenian forces are receiving constant supplies…I have seen few days ago new Kamaz trucks in NK forces while they only had old Ural trucks…Russian military staff have stopped 2 times Turkish forces…1º in Saraqib and great Aleppo..2º in Sirte…3º Will be in NK!..be sure!

Stev60

Maybe, but how long will it take and how much damage be done meantime? Plus, N-K is no good as a half-occupied ‘frozen conflict’, it needs to be all Armenian control, and sovereign. Russian ‘business and investment’ in Turkey is hardly a good idea if it leads to this… Russia tries for a century to win over Turkey, and gets screwed every time! Turks are not reliable partners for Christians. Same goes for West, except West is not really Christian any more.

Putin Apologist

The first was 1894-96 under Sultan Abdul Hamid II.
The second was 1915-16 under the Young Turks during the Great War.
The third was 1919-24 under Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
This could become the fourth genocide of the Armenian Christians at the hands of the Turks.

Stev60

True.

Whacko

Really, then the Turks must first carry out the mass murder of Armenians in their own country.

John Brown

Totally wrong.

As Rhodium said.

Everybody knew that once Pashinyan came to power in a Soros coup
and expressed his wish to Join EU and promoted anti Russian politics ( close of Russian schools banned Russian lenguage TV and radio channels)..etc.. the days of NK were done!

They have betrayed Russia their only backer and protector who helped them win the first NK war and kept Azer from attacking for 30 years.

Armenians betray their only protector for Soros and Satan. They are getting their payoff as the wage of Satan is death.

Armenian leadership really are foul scum who have sold their souls to Satan well and truly, and he will soon be collecting, after God has unleashed His
vengeance on the evil backstabbing repeat-betrayers of the world’s first
Christian nation.

Under Soros coup leaders rule, Armenia has become a satanic nation not a Christian nation.

Stev60

Even if all that were true (which is debateable), Artsakh is not (the country of) Armenia! Punishing Artsakh citizens for Sauros-Satan sympathies of Yerevan regime is not just, especially by betraying to Turks! And, Russia hardly behaves like some moral paragon, even if, Sauros-Satan Axis is evil, which I agree it is.

John Brown

(which is debateable),

Its happening what is to debate?

OK, so why don’t they rise up and overthrow them now!!??

That is the only way Russia will help.

God helps those who help themselves. If they don’t rise up they are not innocent, they like it the way it is isn’t that right?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32eZRsEff9U

Stev60

An uprising in the middle of a war? Not likely. Russia can name reasonable conditions for help, and demand written contract. Then Russia will be the savior. A new basis for things. But if Russia just sits it out till Turks triumph, bad news for everyone, other than Ottoman Turks, and Ottoman Turk-loving traitors.

John Brown

Just the opposite.

An uprising in the middle of a war is very common when your side is losing.

The coup leaders are not agreement capable as they follow the orders of their master Soros.

Stev60

Very common? Examples? Not just small attempts, but successful cases? And comparable to this, where the state in question is not actually itself really at war yet?

Ahson

Iran’s got 5,000 troops now on the Azeri border. If there is an Azeri or Turkish provocation, then Iran will 100% respond. Azeri artillery has destroyed dozens of homes inside Iran. People are not happy and there is strong negative sentiment toward Azerbaijan. Many are saying to go in their and reclaim Iranian lands stolen by the czar.

Stev60

Interesting.

Jens Holm

Very infected to write “sponsered ceasefire”.
