On April 12, a first group of OPCW inspectors arrived in Syria in order to investigate the alleged chemical attack in the town of Douma which took place on April 7. Earlier, Syria’s UN ambassador Bashar Jaafari welcomed the OPCW investigation committee and revealed that the Syrian government is expecting a second group of inspectors to arrive on April 13.

The arrival of the OPCW inspectors in Syria may delay the expected military actions of the US and its allies.

On April 12, US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis revealed that no decision had yet been reached by President Donald Trump about a strike on Syria. Mattis added that the US is still waiting for evidence of the alleged chemical attack. Besides this, the Defense Secretary accused Syria and Russia of undermining the investigation ignoring the fact that Moscow and Damascus had been the initiators of the OPCW investigation mission for Douma.

The situation remains tense.

Mike Pompeo, the CIA director nominated to be US Secretary of State, claimed that the US had killed up to 200 Russians in airstrikes conducted against forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the Euphrates Valley in February.

“In Syria, now, a handful of weeks ago, the Russians met their match. A couple hundred Russians were killed,” Pompeo told lawmakers during his confirmation hearing in Washington.

The US-led coalition carried out strikes on Syrian government forces on February 7. Since then multiple media outlets and “experts” have speculated that “hundreds” of “Russian fighters” were allegedly killed in the strikes. However, the numbers provided appeared to be a part of coordinated media campaign and were not confirmed by any evidence.

The April 12 remarks by Pompeo were the first public statement of a US top official claiming that these rumors are true. Syrian experts already described Pompeo’s claims as another propaganda stunt showing the growing tensions between the US and Russia over Syria.

It’s a month ago somebody said that. It was also in the MSM

  • Heby Jazz

Are you sure if you killed a couple of hundred Russian you will sleep in peace Mike Pompeo. You can continue to play to this game. But now Putin sent you a clear message.Start to strik Syria and you will see the end of your big mistaken….

    • MasterBlaster7

Welp…we attacked…so your move jerk off.

  • Vince Dhimos

Oh, so killing 200 Russians from the air who can’t fight back shows that the US is a “match” for the Russians. It is these fluffy statements that show just how weak and clueless the US really is.

    • gustavo

Do not put attention to this statement, it is totally false. USA is just trying hard to provoke Russia. USA people and military think that making war with Russia will be the same as making it with Irak (total domination of USA). How big mistake made Napoleon and Hitler, the same will happen with USA-NATO-israel.

      • grok

It’s not so much that the U.S. regime and its NATO war-dogs can’t inflict HUGE losses on the russian regime and its allies (as their minions keep boasting): its that these’Western’ money-grubbers simply do NOT have the wherewithal to withstand any long, drawn out World-war-to-the-finish.

Thus the constant threat of the *immediate* annihilation of all Humanity.

  • paul ( original )

I pity anyone who has to deal with human effluent like Pompeo. I have

  • Mortal

If Hell exists, I hope there are very special places for people like him and the rest of his kind. Cheap propaganda from a war hawk tool, when the West already knows the next move is on them and that probably playing aggressively will get them btfo’d. The more the war is postponed is time bought for humanity to reconsider its ways while the Empire grows weaker. Especially for Europe under crisis, this time is crucial to redefine its position on the world map, ditching the western colony and moving towards a new state of relationship with its eastern, truly vital neighbors. But the resistance is fierce if you take a look at EU politics and media, that poison every aspect of reconciliation with the east, conditioning people to be orientalists from the womb.

    • MasterBlaster7

“the next move is on them and that probably playing agressively waill get them btfo’d” Pfft…fast forward 10 hours….we just sent 100 cruise missiles up your arse Russian jack off…what do you do now hot shot…what do you do.

      • Mortal

Your PR stunts are just for show. Sit tight, the decline will be steady and chaos and instability will surely follow in your societies, as they will crumble from the pressure of their own internal problems. You won’t get your war, you won’t even get to give a bloody nose to those who oppose you. What you reap is what you sow. Next time the S200, S125, BUKs etc will be reinforced by S300s and even less missiles will hit their dummy targets. Zero casualties, unimportant material damages is all you managed to achieve. We will be waiting for the next false flag provocation, sometime when the carrier will be close. Let’s see what you will do then.

Now answer this Pompeo – how many Americans, Brits, French, Israelis, Saudis, Afghanis, Libyans, Chinese, Algerians and a bunch others – have been killed or taken POW by the Russians, Syrians, Iranians, and Hezbollah in Syria ? Oh right -same as Clinton — ” Who Cares” ?

  • John

Well, delusion is pretty dangerous. From what I recall, Russia released the names of a handful of contractors who died in that engagement. So, Mr. Pompeo’s words don’t seem to match up with reality.

What is very real are a couple of things regarding combat in that area and the results of the airstrikes the US Coalition made during it. For one, pro Syrian government forces did not withdraw after the airstrikes. The fighting continued with the same parties involved. Number two and unless I am mistaken, those same pro Syrian government are still operating in that area, still fighting, ( note to the SDF )with no intention of leaving. For another, I would bet that conducting pinprick action on a well armed tribal faction, with thousands of fighters, probably kicked off a long term dustup between SDF/US Coalition forces; way to go on that one fellas.

Seriously, can we get anybody in our government to conduct themselves in a discreet, professional manner? …………… God help us all.

    • grok

The U.S. regime has criminal intentions at ALL times. So any issues of morality is highly problematic from the get-go.

      • John

there ae people behind the scenes, leading the West, that will not stop. On that I am in whole agreement. I wish well to you Grok.

Trump, Pompeo and Bolton are just barking dogs..Mattis has more Brain, he knows that Russian satellites spotted B2 bomber and when they take off..only have to calculate time of flight and when they arrive near Syrian 2 SU 57 are waiting them….for other side I dont think that Russian Subs, frigates or fighter jets attacks US warships-launchers…I think they will attack the air carrier, beside US bases in Jordan and Qatar!..to keep US aircraft away from Syria…they will have to use EU bases far from Syria!..and they will have problem to use that bases ( Turkey will reject and EU members can fear to be threated by Russian attacks)….meanwhile Russian long range bombers will attack in persian guf the air carrier of the battle group!…Russian knows that once they waste their cruise missile those ships are useless!…air defense, ECM can destroy many of them and the rest can damage airbases but as we seen in shayrat… how fast it was repaired!

    • grok

The U.S. regime made a strenuous effort to avoid ALL contact with russian forces in Suria. And that’s likely why the success rate of the surian defenders — doing all the defending — was in the 70% range, AFAIK.

And I frankly believe that the U.S. regime conceivably were even the ones to telegraph to the russians just exactly _where_ and _when_ they would attack: giving a few days notice for everyone concerned to evacuate — and thus allowing the U.S. to bomb essentially empty facilities. All elaborate theater for home consumption. This time.

  • Valery Grigoryev

Just another stupid angry dog…we’ve seen a lot. Just boring.

  • SnowCatzor

Oh great, the fool has started attacking now – https://sputniknews.com/news/201804141063539038-explosions-heard-damascus-reports/

Hopefully the Syrian air defences are up to the task.

    • MasterBlaster7

      Special delivery comrade!

  • Azzy Stone

Sincerely I wish those lies can be answered and addressed quickly. He is referring to Putin saying that if one Russian solder get killed he (Putin) will address the situation very sharply.
Russia understand that fighting terrorists is not the end of it as Russia have to fight those who created and supported the terrorists. Putin need to address the situation wisely and sharply because the matter is not going to end here but it will continue to spread lies and creating more terrorists until they get what they want and that to control the wealth of the nations. I know that terrorists supporters will fade away the minute they see what war is.Take stand and be counted.

Where is Nazi-Germany on the Map?
I thought there is no Nazi-Germany anymore while the Yanks plundered the country in 1945 and took all the real Nazis as guests to America and made these Nazis later proud new citizens of the US Inc.?

Germany’s largest news outlet, Der Spiegel, investigated the claim of hundreds of Russian’s being killed in that attack, and reported there to have been only 10 – 20 non-fighting Russian killed.

    I don’t believe Pompeo’s report.

  • AM Hants

Funny, how he is not upto speed with the US and allies death count, or those in captivity, that are not even meant to be there.

Good luck Syria, Russia, Iran and Hezbullah.

    • DarkEyes

Did you read that, AM, the US demands “Syria have to declare all their chemical weapons” and then US MIGHT be willing to start the negotiations again and eventually pull out of Syria.
I wonder are these arrogant US-Clowns so stupid and not even reading reports and other publications by OPCW for instance their report Syria have given up all their chemical weapons to this association which they report it was completed, indeed.

So as I do understand the US statement mentioned here above they are not talking at all and intend to occupy that part of Syria “for ever”.
Maybe time for Russia to do “some convincing” in that area to tell them to surely go home?

      • AM Hants

Dark Eyes, assume you are from the US and in the same position, as us over in the UK. I loved the nation, that I was born into, but pure hatred for the leasers of the UK. . Hatred, as such a waste of negative experience. There again, so happy to aim it at our leaaders and so not the people. Take care and iremember it is the leaders, I despise, not the people.

        • DarkEyes

The same as I see it, correct.
          Now imagine again:
          Case Skripal?
Case Syria chemical weapons attack on Duma?

Here is the distraction why the launching of Guided Beercans on Syria :

Thank you for the links. I like Truthseeker, but, have not come across Paul Stramer, so look forward to reading them.

          • DarkEyes

Do not want to overload you with info.
(BTW, am not from US, in fact I am your “neighbour”.)

AM, here is the next: I read this two times already. Fascinating!
            http://modernhistoryproject.org/mhp?Article=NoneDare&C=5

          • AM Hants

Haha, do not know why I assumed. Which part of the UK?

Thank you for the link. I have skimmed through it, with wow factor and saved it, via bookmarking. There is so much there. What interested me, and will sound seriously stupid, is the fact I remember the ‘Round Table’, coming round every Christmas, with Santa on a sleigh and handing out ‘Smarties’ to the children. Well, they were friends for life, from then on haha and so fickle. However, interesting how they started out and who they are. Started up around the same period in time as The Fabians.

This goes well with your article.

The Fabians, the Round Table, and the Rhodes Scholars… https://mediachecker.wordpress.com/2013/07/11/the-fabians-the-round-table-and-the-rhodes-scholars/

What I find interesting, is the role of the Publishing Companies, in it all. That has seriously bugged me, with regards the Bell Brothers, Timothy the advertising executive, but, also brother David, the publisher.

I live quite close to Portsmouth and when I was at Uni, over there, they mentioned the ‘positive leylines’ in Portsmouth, that were linked with literacy. H. G. Wells, Charles Dickens, Conan Doyle, Jane Austin, so come to mind. The men, were also, heavily connected with Spiritualism. I am not sure about Jane Austin, but, the whole lot is another story, entirely/ It is interesting how bankers and the media, so link up, with regards where we are today. Which sector are the worst?

          • DarkEyes

            Hahaha, now think again, AM.
Hint: when you are UK and I am your “neighbour” where will that be, then?

          • AM Hants

France or Eire? I was going from England and leaving poor Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales out of it haha. Must be more inclusive, in future.

Did you see the Website of “AnnaVonReitz”? A wealth of information about how the situation in the USA grew as it is now and the real actions (maybe for the last thrity years or so?) are being taking behind the scenes by about three thousand plus people (lawyers, publ. service people, judges, etc) working hard to take the country back in a legal way.

The “AnnaVonReitz” (A judge herself, living in Alaska) website has already more than ninehundred articles written through the years. Quite interesting and interesting not only for Americans but also for outside the USA.
For instance she explaines clearly there is an important distinction being US or being USA. Legally very important for the American Nationals.

And you can pick your choice reading from one of the Articles she wrote.
There is also an Introduction she gives people, before starting to read.
            Have a look for yourself.

Here is the direct URL: http://www.annavonreitz.com
            Enjoy.

          • AM Hants

Thank you, for pointing me in her direction. My husband and sons, went to the US, for Christmas, just after 9/11. It was lovely, the nation was so united, patriotic and proud. Everybody, was together. It is so sad, and we are the same in the UK, how much divide and hatred has flared up, in so few years. I so hope you get it back again and have a good clean out in Washington DC. I want the same in Westminster. Good luck and take care.

      • AM Hants

Crazy, isn’t it. The US took receipt of Syrias chemical weapons, signed off by the OPCW. The US was meant to dispose of all their chemicaal weapons, by last year. The excuse, they could not afford it. Yet, they have just provided Ukraine, with at least 3 chemical weapon laaboraatories. Funny that, together with the fact, nobody complains.
