Currently the United States is looking to seize gasoline aboard the next group of Iranian tankers bound for Venezuela, after the last delivery by five sanctions-busting tankers last month were successful despite being accompanied by similar US threats.

Trump: Something Big Will Happen With Venezuela & "We'll Be Very Much Involved"

President Trump on Friday signaled the US is indeed about to “move” on Venezuela and its sanctions thwarting activities with the help of ‘rogue states’ like Iran. He told the Spanish-language American channel Noticias Telemundo on Friday that

“Something will be happening with Venezuela” and that the United States will “be very much involved.”

The president was also asked about the future of election in the country, especially related to US-backed opposition leader and self-styled ‘Interim President’ Juan Guaido.

Trump said the US would “take care of the people of Venezuela” and ultimately support whoever was legitimately elected. But of course, it remains that the US deems any support to Nicolas Maduro by definition “illegitimate”.

The interviewer, Jose Diaz-Balart, asked Trump point-blank: “For you, Venezuela, is it Guaido, is it Maduro, is it U.S. intervention?

Trump said in response:

“It’s freedom for their people. It’s freedom. Venezuela was a rich country 15 years ago, and it’s been destroyed by two people, but a system, a horrible system. … And something will happen with Venezuela. That’s all I can tell you. Something will be happening with Venezuela.”

And when pressed over precisely through what route this “something big” will occur in Venezuela, Trump responded:

“We’ll be very much involved.”

“We’re going to take care of the people of Venezuela,” Trump emphasized.

Since last year the president has reportedly been pressing his generals and admirals on enacting some kind of naval blockade off Venezuela’s coast.

However, top Pentagon leadership has reportedly been by and large against the idea, citing the impracticability of such an operation, and likelihood of unnecessary escalation without clear overall goals of how far US military force would be willing to go against pro-Maduro forces.

Washington reportedly does have naval ships in the Caribbean Sea, however, to crack down on what the White House previously described as Maduro’s “narco-trafficking” as well as illegal sanctions-busting activities.

This US warmongering was always on the cards and a response from Iran and Venezuela will have been planned for.

Trump is politically desperate for a war, any war will do.

    • Cromwell

      He might just get one.

      • Laurent Parodi

Trump may start a war to distract his people from the covid 19 failure.
Attacking the tankers from iran would initiate a war with both iran and venezuela.

        • Fog of War

Dont forget Epstein’s girlfriend currently sitting in jail. Trump will start a war no matter what. He has no choice.

          • Jens Holm

Thats very incorrect. The war commity will say USA has and will get no budget for that.

Its also 100% against what Trump has chosen fx about Syria and Libya.

          • Peter Bozich

The only budget the U.S has, is digital printing press, the U.S dollar will be finished by the end of the year.

          • Jens Holm

Just another stupid comment about Western Economics. You dfeny to understad how ity works, but we se it does.

Which system should we replace it with. Give me a country, a currency.

You cant. You just hope for fiasko, because You cant make succes by Your own fiasko.

If You really want to see what paper is, You should lool at Liras, Rials or Turkish Drakma.

          • Peter Bozich

Ah yes I know how it works, and the reality it doesn’t. The new currency will be gold and silver, and the U.S still claims it has 8000 tonnes. The reality is, it doesn’t have a single ounce left because it’s been loaned and swapped out never to come back. I stand by what I say, the U.S dollar has less than 12 months left.

          • Jens Holm

There we go again. You dont have a single proposal apart from We and Our cirrensies should collpase so we look more like You.

And You still are in the old days based on gold. The main base being as gold is, that we can PRODUCE anything because we have educated people which work hard paid for what we are worth.

Thats based on ownership of machines and brains for it.

Gold here is a reserve or buffer. What you socalled STAND is is relative unimportant, which also is very visible. NONE has denied USA has little Gold. Its relative unimportant in Our economies. UN-IMPORTANT. IR-RELEVANT.

I take it again: Give me a list for countries and systems, which are better.

        • Jens Holm

There seemes to be less and less of “his people”.

If they get Biden next time, We will see a mild version of Hillary or Obama.

      • FlorianGeyer

By design or not, a war would damage the infrastructure of the Middle East and greatly inflate the price of US oil.

BUT, in the event of a nuclear apocalypse with global devastation and billions of deaths, the market for oil would collapse.

    • ruca

Yes he wants to appear presidential. I wonder if he was born a kunt or if he had to go to some high-level kuntification institute.

      • Tommy Jensen

Trump is just following his voters wish, nothing personal.
Politicians only do what their supporters wants them to do……………………….LOL.

        • Jens Holm

Yes, a mndchange is needed. there is no solutions when they continue like that and dont learn.

        • Harry Smith

Wasn’t the “bring boys home” one of the wishes of his voters?

      • shylockracy

In Ziocorporate terrorist regimes with fake “democracy” appearing “presidential” implies making the “tough” decision to bomb some much less powerful country far overseas, like Libya, Syria, Yemen, Panama, etc. Either way, the Trumpet would only be driven by his “advisors” to make that decision.

        • Jens Holm

          Stagflation.

      • Jens Holm

Its not our fault You keep Your women even more stupid then Yourself.

    • Jens Holm

No, Trump is not. He has no ressources for a war at all.

    • Alberto Garza

yes but it will get rid of the communists in power of venezuela .

      • FlorianGeyer

Only to be violently replaced by an ‘ ist’ group controlled by those who covet the wealth of Venezuela. THE USA.

  • Lazy Gamer

Okaaay. Time to load a full tank of diesel. lol

    • Jakke1899

      Iraian diesel? ;-)

  • BMWA1

Is Mike Pompeo going to eat a vast quantity of frijoles and station himself at the columbian border backside to VZ?

  • Tommy Jensen

Exactly what I have said for years. Its about freedom.

  • shylockracy

In this case the ball’s always been in Russia’s court, because if it comes to a military confrontation, it was very obvious from history that the US would not refrain from starting one should they deem it necessary and profitable to their interests. Some Russian-made military equipment guards maybe trillions worth of funny money dollars of different natural resources in Venezuela. Having superseded the European global colonialists, the US can’t just ignore that loot.

With the covid1984 plandemic and economic meltdown for the US, whose major Ziocorporate business is war, a couple Tu-160s landing in Caracas every decade won’t be dissuasion enough.

    • Jens Holm

      What a rubbish crap

    • Harry Smith

Covid1984 LOL! A quite certain definition!

    • occupybacon

Haha dollars funny money, they are even green, I bet they are soar too.

    • Alberto Garza

russia is very far from venezuela and the caribean is basically u.s. property .

  • James

It’s such a farce with this so-called internal struggle in American politics at the moment, and yet Trump is focused more than ever on conquering abroad. I hope more people wake up to this.

    • LibertyIsGreat

You must be a Marxist who loves dictators and socialism? I hope you are living in Venezuela and enjoying the fruits of socialism.

      • JIMI JAMES

Venezualans aint into lgbtq, incest fascism pro transgender leaders who cant define true moral(period) As for dictators, this defines pure unelect leaders, you are one dumb troll!

        • LibertyIsGreat

LGBTQ and transgender is less than 2% of our society but they make up 50% of Hollywood and their movies that you jerk off to. We have 320M people across a country that takes 3 days to drive across.

Only a dum troll talks about the useless insignificant things rather than the big ideas and significant global changes our country has done to help.

          • Jens Holm

            Its 10%.

          • LibertyIsGreat

Ok, maybe and no knows for sure. That means 90% are not. Why would we anything be defined by 10% or less and not the 90%. Does that make any sense?

        • Jens Holm

It seemes as You dont know anything about the high crimerates and corruption as many toher things in Venezuala as well as semilarcountries in that region and other countries.

Facts are those conditions make them low productive and it doeasnt matter if its feudals or socialists running a country like venezuela.

Sanchez took over because the feudals was doing prettay bad and next stripped the remains of effective production which was giving milk as an old car. Eating the cow looked as a succes, but after that = 0.

Feudals comming back is same thing. Only people from the middle class could make things work again, but they are beteen those 2 groups, where many should be in hail or work for real.

Much as You dont understand USA dont want oil and drugs from there and everybody from there armed to teaths – even the weapons are from USA.

USA has devastating drug problems and the rest of the world get and use them too.

  • Icarus Tanović

Okay let’s already see that, you and your administration announced thousand times.

  • Jens Holm

Its so funny so many here believe much mpre in Trump then the Ameriacans and Westerns do.

I think they hopeYou will have them like a kind of Obama care:) .

  • DO.NUT

Lol why do I get ads from https://killing4kremlin.net on this site ? Lol?

  • The Russian had already send they specialist to help the Venezuelan military’s in they equipments repairs and setting up air defence and coastal defense,if needed but now I could see early rada plane being deployed and few s-300,I could even see a Rusian base being build there after the deal was not to be in cuba with nuclear weapons it never say Venezuela and the US government didnt respect the deal since Turkey still hold nuclear weapons in they soil for tu United states of America government…The world need peace but it’s getting more dangerous everyday since there’s a group who just seek to control all .

  • adzsiam

I just don’t think the US military would invade and control Venezuela as easily as the 2003 Iraqi operation was, at least when it comes to losses to be inccured are concern.

I know Trump maybe crazy but he is far from being stupid.

    • #’~A*QXm(>NRmm]w?dU4vXZ

Far from being stupid: what do you base that on? AFAIK, everything he has done as president has been a failure, to put it mildly.

      • adzsiam

Following his rise from a NYC property mogul and TV celebrity before being in politics. Sure, he is arrogant, ignorant, pompous and has a grandiose belief that he can do better at anything compared to anyone else, eventhough he is obviously wrong. He sure didn’t get to the oval office on eloquency and humility. You need cunning, shrewdness, guile, wads of cash and friends in really high places to pull of what he has done so far, without blowing up the whole planet by now.

        • #’~A*QXm(>NRmm]w?dU4vXZ

Property mogul? More like a fake mogul propped up by dubious loans from Deutsche Bank and others.

As for getting into the White House, that was an accident of that corrupt, sick electoral college voting system they have. Trump was amazed himself to have won.

Since he’s been in office he has not achieved anything, everything has been a failure, his administration is a mess, with the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing, and the head in between completely harebrained. I don’t call that cunning.

        • Volker

Property mogul? Trump Was/Is always a self serving corrupt crook + con-man most of his bussiness ventures were failures and his several Bankruptcies were ‘Strategic’ Bankrupcies designed to screw + rip-off his investors, business partners + creditors to his benefit.

  • Boxman

This reminds me of the movie 2010 where the US was acting like a rogue state and imposing a blockade on Honduras and being opposed by the Soviet Union (in the movie, the USSR never fell and was still the world’s #2 superpower). Sadly, there is no one today who can stand up to the US bullying of Venezuela.

  • The Objective

This doesn’t sound good. It seems to me the Iranians are seeking a confrontation The US media is diffusing the message that Iran has backed down after the assassination of Soleimani. But Iranian actions say the exact opposite. Should the US sieze those ships, Iran is certain to retaliate by seizing and equal quantity of American-flagged oil transiting the gulf. This may lead to a clash with the US navy. None can say how it’ll end.
Trump doesn’t want a war right now. War will mean political suicide for him. The US government is currently working with the government where theses four ships originate to stop the shipment so America won’t have to impound the ships and lock horns with Iran. They are probably trying to bribe the ship’s captain to navigate to another location just like they tried with the last five ships.
We’ll see how this plays out, but it’ll be a mistake to impound the ships.

    • AJ

Iran is not seeking confrontation by engaging in legal trade, they have every right to sell gasoline to Venezuela. Its the US thats taking an aggressive approach if they stop those tankers on the open sea.

    • #’~A*QXm(>NRmm]w?dU4vXZ

If Trump does not want war why does he talk war with a business that’s none of his business? Or do you mean that poor Trump is being dragged into it by Iran and Venezuela?

      • The Objective

Trump is a warmonger, but he doesn’t want to start one in an election year. Iran is making him to either look weak or risk war. Neither option is good for re-election. But looking weak is better.

    • chris chuba

Iran and Venezuela should defuse the situation by agreeing to starve to death.

I can just hear the announcement now, Ayatollah Khamenei as a gesture of goodwill to the American people has just agreed not to abide by all U.S. sanctions and not export any oil so that oil revenue will not be $0. This includes banning food and refinery exports to Venezuela.

  • Peter Moy

Once again the Trumpowitz is showing the entire world what a simplistic, arrogant, condescending, interventionist he is. Add to this, he and many others in Washington, DC are functionally illiterate when it comes to math, science, reading , geography and especially history. These Zionist Kosher chicken hawk schmucks are just pathetic.

    • FlorianGeyer

      Well said.

  • Trap Is Not Gay

Sometimes I feel sad for Trump, just imagine being gang raped, but you can’t defend yourself from the rapists so you start cursing onto China, Venezuela, etc like a crazy bitch high on crack.

  • chris chuba

People can’t take freedom to run their cars, trucks, buses and farm equipment Trump you moron.

This is why I will never vote for him (or Biden because he is a houseplant). I am voting for Jill Stein. On 1/1/20 I figured it was was Trump’s election to lose. If he starts a war with Iran by stealing their gasoline he will lose, everyone loses.
