Turkish-backed Militants Shelled Syrian Army Troops Near Maarat al-Numan (Map Update)

On September 7, members of the Turkish-backed terrorist group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, shelled positions of the Syrian Army near the city of Maarat al-Numan in southern Idlib. In respnse, the Syrian Army struck several terrorist positions near the contact line.

The September 7 strike followed a series of incident between Turkish-led forces and the Syrian Army in the area during the past few days. Apparently, Turkish proxies and their masters in Ankara are not happy that the Turkish policy of support to terrorist groups reguarly leads to casualties among Turkish forces themselves.

A few hours ago, the Turkish military revealed that its soldier died from wounds received in southern Idlib recently. On September 6, unknown gunment shelled Turkish forces near the town of Ariha wounding two soldiers. One of them died.
