US Central Command Blames Iran For Attacks On MQ-9 Combat Drones In Persian Gulf Region

Donate

The US continues  to fuel tensions in the Persian Gulf region. First, US Central Command accused Iran of attacking oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. Then, it accused Iran of working to shoot down MQ-9 combat drones in the region.

The full statement says:

“A U.S. MQ-9 was shot down over Yemen by what we assess to be a Houthi SA-6 surface to air missile on Jun 6, 2019. The altitude of the engagement indicated an improvement over previous Houthi capability, which we assess was enabled by Iranian assistance.

On June 13, 2019, according to our assessment, a modified Iranian SA-7 surface-to-air missile attempted to shoot down a U.S. MQ-9 over the Gulf of Oman to disrupt surveillance of the IRGC attack on the M/T Kokuka Courageous. The MQ-9 had arrived minutes earlier at 6:20 a.m. local time at the motor tanker (M/T) Altair and had observed the ship on fire.

The SA-7 was ineffective and its closest point of approach to the MQ-9 was approximately one kilometer.

Subsequent analysis indicates that this was a likely attempt to shoot down or otherwise disrupt the MQ-9 surveillance of the IRGC attack on the M/T Kokuka Courageous.

Lt. Col. Earl Brown, U.S. Central Command Spokesman”

Stay the hell out of the Persian Gulf, problem solved! How would Americans feel if Iran deployed drones off the coasts of California or gulf shores?

    • Keith Brownlee

      United Stateians.. NOT AMERICANS THANKS>>

      • Sinbad2

They have told the world that all of the Americas is theirs and it seems to be true, especially Canada.

    • FlorianGeyer

      Pissed ?

    • Rob

Any country or militant group that allied with America or NATO is terrorist.

  • Hasbara Hunter

America should Piss Off to their own Island….& stay there….

    • Keith Brownlee

United Stateians… Mexico and Canada is in America.. they are not doing noting its just the USA that is.. SO start using United stateians then calling them shit warmonger American.. they lost the right to be called American..

  • Rob

The Iranian heroes should be ready for provocation from US, NATO, Israel and Saudis. Target their all nuclear reactors, main pipelines, military bases, refineries, terminals and aeronautical and missile industries of Saudis, UAE, US, NATO and Israel.

Request to Russia for S-400, Pantsir, and SU-35 fighter jets if they want to secure their south region. Built more and more aerospace defence systems and SRBM, MRBM, IRBM and ICBM missiles. Also do at least five nuclear tests for deterrence.

Sweet! Means the Yemeni skies are no longer safe to invade whenever you want to go and bomb it’s civilians. Although no pilot is threatened, you can smell their fear and rude awakening in that whining of theirs.

The Japanese tanker was inside Iran’s waters, so even IF Iranian forces attempted to target the US drone watching it, their action was fully in accordance to the International Law. Of course if we assume you are telling the truth once in your life and it’s not the usual lies and half-truth.

I read somewhere it’s now very easy to detect if an American official is lying: If their mouth is moving, they’re lying.

    • FlorianGeyer

When an American official is lying properly, their arse cheeks move in unison with their face cheeks.
That’s how Pompous Pompeo is able to tell such humungous lies:)

      • Sinbad2

        lol

      • zman

Yes, it is increasingly difficult to tell which blowhole the foul smell is exiting from…similar to being near a shit-eating dog.

  • Rob

Pompeo vows US will guarantee passage through Strait of Hormuz.

Finally Trump administration disclosed their intention that why they have sabotaged these oil tankers and put so many people lives in threat. LOL

  • Rob

MBS: “We won’t hesitate to deal with any threat to our people, sovereignty, territorial integrity and vital interests.”

KSA and MBS have sold Saudi land to US like Palestine. Now Saudis have no sovereignty, territorial integrity and vital interests. They are just there to serve US, NATO and Israel.

Those “flying objects” noted by the crew of the Kokuka Courageous could well have come from that MQ-9 drone.

I think the US may end up with a plateful of eggs on their face if Russia or Iran has radar data that documents the attack. Let the US dig a deeper hole for themselves , then spring it on ’em !

    • Sinbad2

They already know that it was US forces that damaged the ships, they are just trying to shift the blame. They did the same thing when they shot down IranAir flight 655.
No one could ever accuse the Americans of being honest.

  • World_Eye

REALLY the US: You are guilty for shooting down our spy drone that was spying on you, that is all against human norms. Iran does not allow to be spied upon, from our drones and it’s guilty.

  • FlorianGeyer

” The MQ-9 had arrived minutes earlier at 6:20 a.m. local time at the motor tanker (M/T) Altair and had observed the ship on fire.”

Translated from US Double Speak to Truth speak, the US statement is as follows.
‘ The MQ-9 had arrived earlier at 6:20 a.m. local time at the motor tanker (M/T) Altair to observe the results of the US Coalition of Terror False Flag Attack. ‘ :)

    • PZIVJ

The timing of MQ-9 being there at 6:20 a.m. is quite strange.
      Official CentCom news release:
“U.S. Naval Forces in the region received two separate distress calls at 6:12 a.m. local time from the motor tanker (M/T) Altair and a second one at 7a.m. local time from the M/T Kokuka Courageous.”
Was the MQ-9 missing it’s 4 hellfire missiles at the time? Hmm :)

it would backup the japanese guy’s claims that a projectile hit the boat

      • FlorianGeyer

Yes, that crossed my mind as well. :)

  • Dick Von Dast’Ard

    MQ-9 carries ordinance of x4 AGM-114 Hellfire.
M/V Front Altair hit by x3 explosions.
M/V Kokuka Courageous by x1 explosion.
Japanese tanker owner cites crew as saying tanker hit by flying objects.

  • Dick Von Dast’Ard

SA-7 is a MANPADS weapon system and SA-6 is a mobile SAM.

Very odd how this circa 4,000m ranged weapon would be deployed in the middle of The Gulf of Oman against a U.S. military drone.

  • Luke Hemmming

There would be fragments of whatever was used. All Iran has to do is find these pieces.

  • Real Anti-Racist Action

That’s funny, because I personally blame MQ-9 COMBAT DRONES for attacks on humans.
Interesting how zionist always flip the truth on world events such as how WW2 was really declared in March 24th 1933 by international-Jews against the indigenous tribal peoples. It was this act of war that 100% started the war, and Jews are responsible by their own admission from their own news papers.

  • Dick Von Dast’Ard

Katada, the head of the company that run Japanese tanker involved, has made a number of reveals…
He says not only did his crew observe being hit by a flying object, (discounting a torpedo attack or a mine hitting exploding against the tanker) but he also inferred the crew were forced to go to the ships lifeboats after an artillery shell and bullets struck the ship.

    • PZIVJ

Interesting to note that the damage to both ships was on the starboard side.
Direction opposite of the Iranian coast.

      • Dick Von Dast’Ard

        Can’t read too much there…
        But it does look suspicious.
What really would be interesting to know would be whether the MQ-9 that was fired upon, was operated by either the USAF or the CIA?

        • PZIVJ

If it was a flying object, consider the direction of attack. :)

          • Dick Von Dast’Ard

True, but launch platforms can always maneuver.
Personally I could see why Iran might want to attack tankers, but I just think these two tankers are the wrong flags to attack.

          • PZIVJ

Maneuver much closer to the Iranian coastline, where it can be detected?

          • Dick Von Dast’Ard

            Point taken.

          • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

name one good reason iran would attack the tankers

          • Dick Von Dast’Ard

The Iranians themselves have said if they can’t sell their resources, then they will stop others doing so to.

The Iranians are currently finding it extremely difficult to sell their product and sell it at a fair price.

That is my reasoning, backed up by statements that have been publicly made.

I understand the logic,it’s understandable logic.

          • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

give me sources then where they said that. And why would they attack a japanese tanker when the prime minister was visiting? Are you a special kind of stupid?

          • Dick Von Dast’Ard

“America should know that we are selling our oil and will continue to sell our oil and they are not able to stop our oil exports,” Rouhani said in a televised speech during a trip to the northern Iranian city of Shahroud.

“If one day they want to prevent the export of Iran’s oil, then no oil will be exported from the Persian Gulf,” he said.

Rouhani made similar comments in July.

          • Assad must stay (gr8rambino)

the tankers were carrying methanol, not oil

          • Quenten Bruce

I guess the track record of America vs the track record of Iran is not a cause for you to weigh in then. Surely, you have to accept that you biased by now. Are you an American?

          • zman

If that were in fact true, the US military would have had the video all over the TV and internet ASAP (after all hey had a drone there). As is, we only have their word for events…in other words, nothing. Their video of an ‘Iranian’ boat (retrieving a mine) leaves much to be desired and is piss-poor quality, likely on purpose and proves nothing since mines don’t fly.

      • marcusbond

Both ships were leaving the Persian gulf. Their starboard sides which appeared to be hit on both ships were actually facing UAE / OMAN coastline.

  • John

The best thing US Command elements could do right now is shut the trap. This is sounding more and more bizarre.

the quickly disintegrating states of A won’t be able to deliver on that promise and in fact the neo-nazi morons in washington dc can’t deliver very much on most things as is amply demonstrated lately as the nitwits threatens and huff and puff and no one really can be much bothered. closing the hormuz straight is a piece of cake for Tehran and moreover they can arrange to have the red sea closed for tankers going east after loading in yanbu. and what would the saudi crown prince, of leonardi da vinci fake buy fame hohoho, say about not having any revenue from sale of the crude.he’d go buuu and blame fatso and the most dangerous person in the world bolton.

Russia needs the high price more than any country . Russia and Iran are the terrorists causing issues in the gulf .

  • zman

Only a F’ing idiot would announce they had an armed attack drone in the area…especially while trying to pedal the mine myth amidst witnesses seeing a flying object strike them. Their timeline is self-indicting, the scenario pathetic and embarrassing.
