It is reported that at least four people have been killed in a US drone strike in southern Yemen.
According to local journalist, on Friday the U.S unmanned aircraft destroyed a vehicle in the southern Yemeni province of Shabwa, killing four people.
“We are not sure about the identities of 4 victims, investigations are underway,” said a local official of Shabwa province.
The U.S carries out regular drone strikes in Yemen and several other Muslim countries including Iraq, Syria, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
However, the US has been claiming that the drones target only terrorists, but local sources say civilians have been the main victims of the unmanned airstrikes. The US drone strikes in Yemen have been accompanied with the Saudi military aggression against the Arab country.
Since Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression in Yemen March last year, more than 8,300 people including 2,236 children were killed. The Saudi led airstrikes also devastated the country’s service infrastructures, such as, hospitals, schools, food storage and delivery systems.
